South African Food Affair — SAFA for short — is the parent company behind two passionate food brands: our Peri Peri food truck and SAFA Catering & Events. Together, we bring the smoke, spice and soul of South African cooking to streets, festivals and celebrations.
What makes us different? We don’t reinterpret South African food — we honor it. Every recipe is rooted in heritage, every spice blend is hand-made, every plate is served with the warmth of home.
Our Story
A JOURNEY FROM
HOME TO HERE
South African Food Affair was born from homesickness and a backyard braai. Our founders missed the food that raised them — the smoky boerewors, the fragrant Durban curries, the fiery peri peri chicken — and decided to share it with everyone willing to pull up a chair.
What started as cooking for friends became a Peri Peri food truck rolling into markets and festivals. Demand from couples, companies and communities then sparked SAFA Catering & Events. One vision, two brands, one fire — and a growing family of guests at every event we serve.
